I felt nervous and weird to have a trillion faces looking at me but they weren’t all looking at me, but it was my first time to stand up on stage at Glen Taylor School.

2 things that went perfectly well for our assembly was Alyssa’s writing story that she shared because She was very confident and her story was creative and also Sage,Joseph, Peter and Harry’s Rama and Sita slideshow presentation.

What we need to work on is not saying ahh or umm but over all everything was great.

The Museum

Yesterday morning, the year 5,6 and 7 went to the museum for a trip. We first lined up quickly in front of our classes and made our way to the courts for karakia. Then after that we said karakia and we got into our groups.Next we made our way to the bus and got seated in one of the seats. I was sitting in the front seat at the back of the driver.

Just then me and Danait played a game,we had to try and spot a dog and the first person to spot it wins. I kept my eyes outside trying to spot a dog then all I see is a white fluffy pillow running around on the field when there’s a sign that says no dogs allowed but Danait didn’t notice it until I said “I spotted a dog”. Then about two minutes later there was about five or six dogs running along the pathway and on the fields.

Then suddenly, all we see is an enormous gigantic white building right in front of us, everyone was like “ooooh look the museum”. Once we arrived we hopped off the bus and sprinted over to this small room near the museum. While we got seated a man named Ma’ara was welcoming us to the museum in the reo Maori but then he translated it back to English so we all could understand. He went over with some rules that we should do and should not do while we were waiting on the other teachers, parents and students to arrive on the other bus. Once they arrived ,Ma’ara repeated what he said to us before to the other groups and teachers. We had a quick feed and locked our bags away because it was not allowed in the museum.

Then finally we could explore the massive museum we first started at the Maera which was the first thing you see if you are looking straight ahead. Maria who was Mr Soks girlfriend was our parent helper to take care of us so we don’t do anything wrong or distract and annoy the other people that were at the museum exploring to. We started off with going into the Maera but first we had to take our shoes off. Next we went up the stairs to see whatever was up there, which was a huge room filled with interesting things that we could touch and there were droors
filled with real life dead insects and animals in there. Also there was a microscope that zoomed in these little bugs in this clear tube.

Then we also explored this game which was a story up it was really fun playing it. You had to get a coconut a banana and a fish then once you collected all off those items you have to make your way to the red flag on the island and the first person to do that wins and gets three stars.
We also visited this other area which had a lot of purses and bags and jewellery and even a white dress with white gloves and a white small bag which was not a purse. Then we just kept on visiting and exploring the museum until we had to head off to eat. We got our bags out of the locks and started to eat. Then we walked and walked until we had our session with Ma’ara. It was about a nose floot that was made out of bamboo and a necklace that was made out of thin strips of bark wood, after we talked about the nose floot and the colourful necklace we handmaded a  flower necklace then Dontae said a little thank you speech to Ma’ara and the rest of the people that helped us with everything. Then we made our way out of the museum and had like a 5 minute break.

Later on we walked over to the small room and ate again. Finally we walked over to the bus cause be were leaving. It was so hot that everyone was complying of how hot it was. Everyone was exhausted from walking everywhere around the museum.

We just arrived at school and walked over to our class. That was the best trip ever I thought to myself.

My favourite part was the microscope because it was really interesting to see all the little insects in clear glass tubes zoomed up.

I would definitely go back again.
